Hyde park in the snow
Hyde park in the snow
Taken

I lived in a little flat above and Indian restaurant in Paddington, London for about a year or so.  Working at Google, and then at another place in Knightsbridge, I was luck enough that the nearby Hyde Park and Kensington palace Gardens was part of my walk to work each morning.

Living as I do in a sub-tropical place, it's hard for me to imagine walking to work in the snow as I was in this picture.  How life changes.

I loved the snow at first, but then when it became difficult to walk around as it compacted and went grey on the streets, I realised it wasn't all snowflakes and whiteness.  Still, the seasons offer some solace for the cold, and my hundreds of daily walks through Hyde Park were always accompanied by some new beauty.
