Here we are, the triumphant Hellvellyn crew, from the right Aaron, John, Mark and Me.

For John, an experienced sturdy mountain climber who organised and led us, things like this were a little walk in the park.  For me and the others, it was an unforgettable, testing experience.

This was the first time the three of us had done a scramble, from where at one point you can see the memorials of people who had fallen to their death.   We didn't do it in perhaps the conditions they did, but I was certainly reminded of my mortality looking down on either side a few times, particularly as I got tired and my feet started to snag on the rocks we climbed over.

We are exhausted and jubilant here.  Somehow we then jogged down the rest of the way, feeding on nothing more than our exhilaration at having pushed ourselves beyond our previous known limits.
