I climbed Mt Snowdon twice, the first time not getting to the top because we ran out of time.  This picture was from the second visit.

Wales is such a beautiful place, I was really captivated by it.  I would have liked to see a lot more of it.

It was the first place I went into an actual castle.  This was a huge deal for me, being a long term fan of Tolkein, Dungeons and Dragons, Medieval history etc.  Standing on the ramparts, I thought about all the other people down through the centuries who had stood in the same spot, what their lives were like, what clothes they wore.

After five years in Europe I almost became blase about castles, having seen so many, but the first one was always special.
