Cavalry in Hyde Park
Mounted soldiers Hyde Park

Here is just another day walking to work through Hyde Park.

Some days I would see people driving a horse and carriage around.  Not an open top carriage, but an old style fully enclosed one, and I seem to remember the people driving it were in formal wear, maybe even in top hats.  I figured it was something to do with royalty.

Other times I would see children on ponies, or adults on horses.  One surreal moment I was walking home in a very built up urban area of Paddington, when two people rode past me on horses and into a house.  I have no idea what sort of expansive garden the house must have had, but I'd never thought it might be a house which had horses before.

Occassionally I would see calvary being put through their paces.  Here they were clearly practising for a parade.  I would see others in darker uniforms practising maneavours in a corral.  They all looked like something directly from the Napoleonic wars (who Cathy had a relative at!).

Another amazing average day in London.
