I felt local Brisbane animal rights advocates should come together for a day.
I didn't want it to be huge or for it to feature big names from other places. I wanted it to be cheap to attend, for people to get a good meal, and for all the groups and activists doing good things in South East Queensland to get a chance to showcase their achievements and plans.
Helped along by my friend Jeremy, and the catering of Paul and Lisa Foo, we made it happen. People loved it, and it's an example of how easily you can pull together something like this.
Plenty of other people helped as the event neared happening, mostly from the Animal Liberation Queensland committee, and although there were a couple of speed bumps it went off really well.
