This series of podcasts is a wonderful deep dive into the history of Vegetarianism and Veganism. 

The idea that it is wrong to eat animals was not invented in San Francisco in the late 1960s.  It is an idea that has repeatedly surfaced over our history, as each generation looks into the eyes of an animal and see something in common with them.

I was friends with Ian who created this series when I lived in London, and was lucky enough to get preview episodes of the podcast for comment. Although plenty of people have listened to the series, I feel the project hasn't received the attention it deserves. It is vitally important for Vegetarians and Vegans to place themselves within the scope of history, to understand the history of the ideas that animate the movement, and know something of the key moments and figures.

I can't recommend this highly enough.
