Me in Ayutthaya

Cat wanted to head straight back from Marten and Barbara's wedding, but I wanted to do my standard stopover.

For some reason, Thailand was the best option, and having enjoyed it so much when I was there with Cat I went again.  I wanted to get out of Bangkok for at least one day, so I took a train out to the ancient capital of Thailand Ayutthaya.

Really this was such a great day for me.  I hired a tuk-tuk driver who took me around to a number of monuments.  He was a nice guy and his wife came with us for the last part of the journey.  I have him to thank for taking a photo of me, as I don't really take enough selfies.

I loved the ancient decay of the place.

I saw a tourist elephant, and loving elephants I went to have a closer look.  In his eye, I saw such a look of hatred and misery that it actually scared me, and I positioned myself behind a sturdy tree.

Other than that it was a wonderful day.  For some reason, I think ruins are my thing.
