Gigi's Pizza was perhaps the most renowned pizza restaurant in Australia.  So when it decided to go fully plant-based with its menu it was news of some note.

We managed to get a table, it was one of the busiest places I went to in Sydney, and had a fantastic pizza.  It must be said Cat rated it slightly higher than I did but we were both very pleased.

When it was announced they would open up a small restaurant on the Gold Coast, a lot of people in the area waited expectantly.  Then however they made the huge mistake of making only gluten-free bases and serving the pizzas reheated from a display cabinet.  When I tried it, they reheated it under a grill, making the base cold and only the top ingredients lukewarm.  They looked great, but we were all disappointed. The Gold Coast Gigi's has now disappeared from the earth.

Anyway, next time I'm in Sydney, I'll head back to the original, and ask for extra gluten on mine.
