This is my first meeting of our little darling Pixie.

We decided we wanted to live a bit closer to the train to the Gold Coast and I've always liked the West End area of Brisbane, so we were lucky enough to find out little townhouse in Highgate Hill.  The previous owners apparently had a cat which they didn't want to take with them and were unable to give away.  Cathy went and met her, and as I hoped and expected, we ended up saying we would take care of her once they were gone.

I opened our door for the first time, taking a video for Cathy as she couldn't be there.  Then I went out onto the back deck, sat down and a hungry and timid little girl came to greet me.  I then gave her some food, and here she is eating away.

This was over five years now (2020).  We don't really know how old she is, they said maybe either or nine, so she would have been born in 2006 or 2007.

As people who love animals, particularly cats, and don't have children she brings such joy to our lives.  It very much makes our relationship better.  I'm pretty conscious that pets are often a replacement for human relationships, Pixie certainly is for us.

Like all sentient beings she has her own quirks and personality, and we adore her all the more for them.

Bring on cultured meat.
