This was a magical day we hadn't expected.

We live just on the south side of the City of Brisbane, a place partly chosen to allow us to get the train down to the Gold Coast more easily.  We both love the beach, the water, and the vegan-friendly restaurants the health-obsessed lifestyle of the Gold Coast seems to encourage.

When we arrived we started to notice butterflies everywhere.  Hitting the beach as you can see here they were flying all around us.  Even when we went in the water they would be flying above our heads, as if they had suddenly spawned from the ocean somehow.

We still visit at least monthly in the swimming months and we'd probably live on the Gold Coast if the train went a bit further south.
